Terms and Conditions
Skip Hire Terms, Cancellations and Refunds
These terms explain your responsibilities when hiring a skip from us, along with our cancellation and refund policy. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Cancellations and Refunds
All cancellations must be confirmed by telephone, email or through the enquiry form on our website.
If you provide at least 24 hours’ notice before the scheduled delivery date, you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, including on the scheduled delivery date, no refund will normally be provided.
If the skip is already in transit or has already been delivered, we reserve the right to charge the full hire fee.
Skip permit or licence fees cannot be refunded once the application has been submitted to the relevant council and the cost cannot be recovered by us.
We reserve the right to charge a reasonable wasted-journey fee if our driver attends the delivery or collection address but:
-
Is turned away;
-
Cannot safely access the property;
-
Cannot deliver or collect the skip;
-
Finds the skip overloaded or incorrectly filled; or
-
Encounters another issue caused by circumstances within the customer’s control.
We cannot issue refunds for services purchased through another skip hire company, broker or third-party provider. Refund requests must be made directly to the company that accepted your payment.
Customer Responsibility
You are responsible for the skip and its contents from the time it is delivered until it has been collected.
You must take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised use, damage, fire, theft or prohibited waste being placed in the skip.
The skip must not be moved from its original delivery position without our prior permission.
Hire Period and Collection
The standard hire period will normally be between 7 and 14 days unless a different period is agreed when booking.
If you require the skip for longer, you must contact us before the agreed collection date. Extended hire may be subject to additional weekly rental charges.
Collection dates and times are estimates. Although we will always aim to collect skips promptly, collection may take up to 60 days in exceptional circumstances, including extreme weather, operational disruption or unusually busy peak periods.
You remain responsible for the skip until it has been collected.
Skip Placement and Property Damage
You are responsible for ensuring that the requested delivery area is suitable, accessible and strong enough to support the skip and delivery vehicle.
Skips placed on private property, including driveways, gardens, paved areas or other surfaces, are placed at your request and risk.
We will not be responsible for damage to driveways, paving, lawns, walls, gates, underground services or other property where you have requested that the skip or delivery vehicle enter or be placed in that area, unless the damage was caused by our negligence.
Our driver has the final decision on whether a skip can be safely delivered or collected from the requested location.

Highway Permits
A skip placed entirely on private property will not normally require a highway permit.
A permit may be required when a skip is placed on a public road, pavement, grass verge or any other part of the public highway.
Where required, the permit must be approved before the skip is delivered. Permit fees and any related council charges are payable by the customer.
Permit approval is controlled by the relevant council. We cannot guarantee that an application will be approved or processed by a particular date.
Loading the Skip
All skips must be level-loaded. Waste must not extend above the top or sides of the skip.
Overloaded skips may be refused collection until the excess waste has been removed. An additional wasted-journey, overload or collection charge may also apply.
You are responsible for ensuring that the skip does not exceed the permitted weight.
When disposing of heavy inert materials, including soil, concrete, bricks, rubble or hardcore, you may be restricted to a smaller skip, normally a 6-yard or 8-yard skip. This is necessary to prevent the skip and collection vehicle from exceeding legal road weight limits.
We may refuse to collect any skip that we reasonably believe is overloaded, unsafe or unsuitable for transportation.
Prohibited and Hazardous Waste
Hazardous or prohibited waste must not be placed in the skip unless we have agreed to accept it in writing before delivery.
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
-
Asbestos;
-
Gas bottles or cylinders;
-
Fridges and freezers;
-
Batteries;
-
Chemicals, solvents, paint or liquids;
-
Medical or clinical waste;
-
Oils or fuels;
-
Tyres; and
-
Any explosive, flammable, toxic or hazardous materials.
You may be charged for the identification, removal, handling, return or specialist disposal of prohibited waste.
We may also refuse collection until the prohibited items have been safely removed.
Access for Delivery and Collection
You must provide safe and reasonable access for delivery and collection.
Access must be clear of parked vehicles, locked gates, low cables, overhanging trees and other obstructions.
If access is unavailable or unsafe when our driver attends, we may refuse delivery or collection and charge a reasonable wasted-journey fee.
Changes to Bookings
Any requested changes to the skip size, waste type, delivery location, hire period or collection arrangements must be agreed with us in advance.
Changes may result in additional charges, which will be explained before the change is confirmed.
Acceptance of These Terms
By placing an order and accepting delivery of a skip, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions.
